KALISAYA

Which will be one of the first commercial projects of renewable hydrogen production in Chile, comes up as a solution for the conditions of pollution of the country, where waste from human activity and industrial or biological processes have raised the levels of pollution to become harmful for people and environment. Besides, it arises due to the development of hydrogen technology and fuel cells in general, and its development applied to urban mobility in particular.

KALISAYA means lightning as well as energy in Aimara language. It is the name chosen for the development, construction and operation of the first hydrogen production plant.

The high purity and renewable hydrogen is obtained from the breaking down of water molecules, and when used, it turns into water again (H2O). This way, we are bringing a new concept in the decarbonization and lifestyle in our cities.

Deadlines – production capacity, schedule – stages of the project and location

Deadlines – production capacity
Stage 1:

Production capacity: 1,9 millions of Nm3/year H2 and 850,000 Nm2/O2 high purity, 99,999%.

Stage 2 y 3:

They will be implemented by the increasing demand and needs of improvement in the air and noise in the city. The message “KALISAYA” aims to sensitize the energy sector, using hydrogen as an energy vector.

The produced hydrogen will go to the mobility sector, initially in Santiago (Chile), where some measures restricting the traffic were currently set, since pollution levels are so high that health problems are at peak levels. This situation undermines the levels of quality of life, and also affects the productive and service sectors in the city.
